About me

After more than a decade working in graphic design, I made a conscious shift away from the fast, digital, and disposable visual world toward handmade, lasting objects. This transition was not only professional, but ethical and emotional. Through tufting, I found a medium that brings time, material, and touch back to the center of creation.

My carpets and textile artworks are born from a desire for physical presence - for weight, texture, and stories embedded in material. Tufting is not simply a technique for me, but a way of thinking and working slowly, attentively, and with intention. Each piece is shaped through direct contact with wool, where form emerges gradually, guided by the material itself.

BODOBATS became the framework through which my values and visual language could take form - a place where contemporary thinking meets ancestral making. I work with a clear focus on sustainability, formal freedom, and cultural continuity, approaching textile art as a space between design and fine art, where structure meets intuition and objects can carry both function and emotional depth.

I studied at the VISART Art Academy in Budapest, formerly affiliated with the École d’Art Maryse Eloy in Paris, and later founded and led my own graphic design studio. In 2025, I chose to focus primarily on textile art and tufting, allowing this slower, more tactile practice to become my main creative language.

Generations & female creativity

Female handcraft has always been part of my personal history. In my family, crochet, weaving, and embroidery were not hobbies, but ways of survival, care, and quiet resistance. Women created with their hands alongside domestic labor, often without recognition - their work remaining largely invisible.
These inherited gestures - repetitive, patient, intimate - form the emotional foundation of my practice. Working with yarn connects me to a lineage of female creativity: a continuous thread of knowledge passed down through generations, shaped by historical and social circumstances. What was once a necessity has, for me, become a conscious choice - a space of freedom, self-expression, and independence.

With BODOBATS, I want to make this invisible history tangible. My textile works carry traces of layered female energies - memory, endurance, softness, and strength. Tufting becomes a dialogue between past and present, between imposed roles and reclaimed authorship.
Nature-inspired geometric and organic forms appear throughout my work as symbols of separation and autonomy. They hold personal and collective meaning: stepping out of inherited patterns while still honoring their presence. In this way, BODOBATS becomes both continuation and reinterpretation - a contemporary response to tradition, where textile art stays alive and evolving, rather than preserved and fixed.

Material use

I primarily work with wool, chosen for its natural qualities, durability, and emotional warmth. The material guides the process - its texture, density, and movement shape each piece organically.

Unique forms

Every work I make is defined by its individual form. Through tufting, layering, and trimming, I create sculptural surfaces, 3D effects, and soft structures that blur the line between object and artwork.

Inspiration

Nature is my primary reference point - from plant forms and landscapes to seasonal light and growth patterns. These influences appear not as literal motifs, but as rhythms, shapes, and color relationships embedded in each piece.

About BODOBATS

BODOBATS is my textile art studio - a place where I explore the space between tradition and contemporary form. Working with wool and tufting, I create tactile objects shaped by nature, memory, and female creative heritage. Everything is handmade and locally produced, designed to carry both presence and story.
